Events Lynette Kay Linden, 82, of Sugar Grove, IL went to be with the Lord on June 16, 2025. She was born March 1, 1943 at home in Zion, IL, to Bertha and Lawson Hall.
Lynette spent time in the summer at Illinois Beach State Park. She played on the beach while her dad's Great Dane guarded her. Lynette loved playing with kittens at her grandparents, working with her mom and going along to sell eggs with her dad in Iowa. As a young teen, she got a job making cotton candy at IBS Park saying that she wore as much of it as she spun that summer.
Lynette attended Grace Missionary Church and was an active member of the youth group. These friends are forever friends and kept in touch long past youth group and continued to meet together for the class reunions and oftentimes in years between along with their spouses.
After graduation from Zion Benton Township High School Lynette worked at Abbott Labs as a quality control technician. That was short lived because a young man named Dave Linden started vying for her attention. She succumbed to his charm and the two were married July 7, 1962. Dave always felt like the luckiest man to be with her. Lynette took to homemaking and motherhood with career commitment.
Lynette was the kindest person you'd ever meet. Her love for her family was her motivation. She wrote weekly letters to her mom and sister for years. Her nieces and friends also benefitted from greetings delivered in the mail to keep in touch and cherish. Sending cards on holidays, birthdays and anniversaries was a gift. From her kitchen came the best German chocolate bars, molasses cookies and taffy apple salad in the world. Lynette was the greatest fan of her sons and grandsons on any court or field they played. She never wanted a family trip or event to end - more time together was always her wish!
Lynette leaves a devoted family including her husband of almost 63 years, David; son, Steve (Sarah) Linden; grandson, Mark (Alisa) Linden; sister-in-law, Mary Edge; brother-in-law, Albert (Pat) Linden, Jr. as well as several loving nieces, nephews and treasured friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Bertha and Lawson Hall; brother, Bob Edge; sister, Jettie Rose Edwards Peterson; son, Roger Linden; grandson, John Linden and brother-in-law, Paul Linden.
