Jeraldine Ruth Burns, 83, of Winthrop Harbor, IL passed away peacefully Thursday, December 13, 2018 in Zion, IL. Jeraldine was born July 25, 1935 in White Lake, WI to Eugene and Adeline Mitchell. She was a lifelong resident of Winthrop Harbor, IL and graduated from Zion Benton Township High School in 1953. She married Clarence R. Burns in Waukegan in 1957. Jeraldine was a CNA and devoted her life to caring for others when they were no longer able to care for themselves. She loved birds, crafts, reading, gardening, and caring for the flowers in her beautiful garden. She was very patriotic and loved spending time with her family, most of all her grandchildren. Jeraldine is survived by her children, Terri Hudrick and Kevin (Patti) Burns; grandchildren, Heather (Chris) Engdahl, Sean (Kyrsten) Kline, Trevor Burns and Brandon Burns; great grandchildren, Haylan and Rylan; brother. Terry Mitchell and many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence; sisters, Mary Pollitt, June Lundgren, Shirley Plutchak and Nancy MacDonald; and brother, Eugene Mitchell.
