About (no additional information)
Events Merlin M. Kreis, "Magic," 63, passed away on February 4, 2025, in Maywood, Illinois. Though he lived in several places, he was raised in Zion and always considered it home.
He is survived by his daughters, Nicole Boehmer (Matt) and Tiffany Kreis (Bruce Sartin); his grandchildren, Dakota and Ciarra Rincon, Kaylee, Owen, Taylor, and Skyla Boehmer, and Caiden, Emma, Zoey, and Adelyn Sartin; and his brothers, Larry (Tracy) Kreis and Kevin Kreis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Florence Kreis, and his granddaughter, Lorelei Grace Sartin.
Merlin graduated from Zion Benton High School in 1980. He was a proud Army veteran and a retired electrician with IBEW Local Union 150. He also owned Magic Security and Recovery and served as an Ordained Evangelist Minister with the Midwest Dirt Church Ministries since 2011. He volunteered on the Electrical Commission and ESDA for the city of Zion. Merlin loved riding his Harley and sharing the road with fellow bikers. He enjoyed attending Nostalgia Days with his "rat rod" and visiting friends from Lizard Lick Towing. However, nothing brought him greater happiness than vacations in Hawaii. In January 2024, he spent a memorable week there with Nikki and Tiffany, calling it "one of my favorite memories in this lifetime."
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 9, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Club Tiki, 3500 Sunset Avenue in Waukegan. Guests are encouraged to wear Hawaiian attire in honor of Merlin.
To some Merlin would say, "A Hui Hou"-until we meet again.
To others, "Aloha Oe"-farewell, this is our final goodbye.
May Merlin rest in peace in his paradise.
