Alven Daryl Smith passed into Heaven's gates on December 15, 2024 at the age of 80.
He was born on July 3, 1944, the son of Edwin and Lydia Smith of Zion.
Alven loved fishing with his Dad and brothers and played on the Grace Missionary Church baseball team. He graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School and apprenticed as a Meat Cutter for Salem Foods. He worked for National Tea, Sentry, Fairway Foods, and retired from Sunset Foods.
Alven is survived by his loving wife Josefa; daughter Andrea Smith; and his extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister; and brothers.
Burial will take place on Friday, December 27, 2024 at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park in Zion, IL at 10:00 am.
