Sandra Mary (DuBois) Rukstales
Sandra Rukstales, 57, of Zion, IL passed away on June 6, 2018 as a result of a battle with many health issues. Her family was by her side as she closed her eyes and took one last breath before the Lord took her away from her pain and struggles. Sandy was born in Waukegan, IL on November 24th, 1960. She attended Zion-Benton High School. Sandy met her husband of over 30 years, James Rukstales on her 18th birthday and they were married on June 29, 1985.
Sandy worked at Ferro Pfanstiehl for over 25 years and a second job for several years at Rolling Hills Manor where she worked as a CNA. She had a passion for arts and crafts. She took several classes in photography, pottery, and various other arts and crafts. She also loved to read, and you could always find her nose stuck in a romance novel, sometimes even a book a day. One other passion she had was her Christmas village, by the end it was such a sight to see with hundreds of buildings and other pieces.
Sandy is survived by her husband James Rukstales; her children Jessica (Nick) Wessel, Jennifer Rukstales, Nicholas Rukstales and nephew Michael DuBois; Grand-kids Faith O’Malley, Brice O’Malley, Dustin Rukstales Zeien, and Aiden O’Malley. Sandy is also survived by her Father Edmund (Linda) DuBois; her siblings Cindy DuBois, Chuck (Val) DuBois, Sharon (Bryan) Ballman, David (Lily) DuBois, Jason DuBois, Eric DuBois. Sandy is preceded in death by her mother Mary DuBois and daughter Andrea O’Malley.
