About	Shirley A. Israel, 91 of Avon, New York died Wednesday January 31st after a lengthy Illness. She was born on February 12, 1926 in Zanesville, OH the Daughter of Lewis Swank and Helen Marie Koch Swank. Shirley was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Zanesville & St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Geneseo, NY. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Harold E. Israel whom she married February 16, 1947; a son Marc D. (Debbie) Israel (MA); a daughter Myrna K. (Blaine)Jacox (NY) three grandchildren Renee (Michael) Smith (NY); Jason (Allison) Cooper (NY)& Maryrose Israel (MA) five great grandchildren Connor, Abigail & Paige Smith, Augusta & Abram Cooper. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and step-mother Callie G. Swank, her brother & sister in law Leroy & Betty Swank, her sister & brother in law Mary Jane & Gerald VanOster & her son Brian Eugene Israel. Friends may call 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM Wednesday February 7th at the Bryan and Hardwick Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday February 8th at Saint John's Lutheran Church, 116 N 7th St, Zanesville, OH 43701 with Pastor Mark Combs officiating. Burial will conclude at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Zanesville.
