About	William J. Abel, 74, of 4416 Limewood Drive, Winter Haven, Florida, formerly of Brilliant, Ohio and a native of Zanesville, died at 5:55 pm Tuesday, December 13, 1988, at the Winter Haven Hospital in Winter Haven, Florida. Mr. Abel was a 1932 graduate of Lash High School in Zanesvile, Ohio and a retired personnel supervisor for the Ohio Power Co., Cardinal Plant. He was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church in Winter Haven and formerly a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Zanesville. Mr. Abel also held memberships in Lafayette #79 F & AM, the Scottish Rite Valley of Steubenville, the Aladdin Shrine Temple of Columbus and the Retired Men's Club of the Wagoneers. Born August 23, 1914, in Zanesville, he was a son of William C. and Lela (Dowell) Abel. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Annette McCaslin; one daughter, Mrs. William (Barbara) Van Doren of Dayton; two grandchildren; and one sister, Joanne Hostetter of Newark. Calling hours will be observed one hour before services which are scheduled for 1 pm Saturday at Bryan Funeral Home with Dr. Donald E. Warth officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
