About | Braden McCall Nida D.D.S., 86, of Marietta, OH passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Brookdale of Marietta. He was born on July 2, 1930 in Harrisville, WV to the late Braden E. and Edith (Rymer) Nida. Brady graduated from Zanesville High School in 1948 where he played football and ran track. Brady held the school record in the 1/2 mile and 1 mile. After graduating high school, Brady went on to obtain his Bachelors Degree at Marietta College. He then went on to OSU's School of Dentistry, graduating in 1957. Brady served his community as an area dentist for over 40 years, enjoying his work and patients, before retiring in 2000. Brady was a Methodist by faith, was active in Kiwanis. He was a very personable, compassionate person who loved music, dancing, golfing, as he was a member of the Marietta Country Club, bowling, especially with the Elks and Kiwanis, fishing, traveling, and gardening. However, OSU football was his passion...GO BUCKS! On September 27, 1952 he married Nancy Wilson Nida in Columbus, OH and she survives with their six children, Braden E. Nida, Dr. Wesley Nida (Theresa), Caroline Fouss (Dan), Maryann Swartz (Denny), Kathleen Callihan (Rick), all of Marietta and Susan Rice (Fred) of Lutz, FL. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Jaime Thurlow, Nathan and Darren Swartz, Nicole and Braden Richard Nida, Morgan and Cameron Fouss, Hallie and Tyler Rice and Margo Lalli; seven great grandchildren, Kaci, Sarah, Lyria, Maico, Elina, Maurice and Alora. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Joan Morrison (Charles) and Juanita Pfeiffer. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on Tuesday, November 8 at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta. A private family service will be held on Wednesday. The family would like to thank the caring staff in the Brookdale Clare Bridge Memory unit. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the West Virginia Alzheimer's Association, 1218 Market St., Parkersburg, WV 26101. |
