About ZANESVILLE: Curtis Raymond Williams, 92, passed away December 10, 2015 of a short illness at Genesis Hospital. He was a resident at The Abbott Senior Independent Facility on Greenwood Avenue. Curtis or "Curt" as he was fondly known, was born January 27, 1923, in Monessen, Pa to Harry Douglas Williams and Mabel Curtis Williams. Curt was a graduate of Lash High School where he was a standout in basketball. He was a World War II veteran where he served in the Signal Corps in Europe. He was employed for 35 years for the U.S. Post Office and part time for Bob Frye's Drive Thru. He was a member of St. Paul AME church, and liked watching LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. He leaves 4 children, son, Curtis Jay Williams (Muriel) of Phoenix, Az, daughter, Karla Rae Walker of Cleveland, Oh, son, Harry Douglas Williams II of Tallahassee, Fl and daughter, Misti Jo Marsh (Crosby) of Frederick, Md, grandchildren, Mason Williams of Columbus, Oh, Simone Williams of Phoenix, Az, and Karrie Williams of Midway, Fl and numerous great grandchildren. He also leaves sisters, Juanita Collins, of Columbus, Oh and Beverly Jo Williams of Zanesville, Oh. He was preceded in passing by his parents, and sisters, Inez Faithful, Florence Stinger, Hazel Steele, Maxine Nelson and Ethel Quarles, and a brother, Harold Williams. Curt will always be remembered for his humbleness and generosity. Mr. Williams will be cremated per family request.
