About	COLUMBUS: Charles 'Chuck' M. Luby, age 76, left us peacefully at 5:49pm on October 2, 2015 at OSU James Cancer Center. Chuck was born in Zanesville, OH to Thomas and Margaret (Stillwagner) Luby, who are deceased. Chuck is survived by his wife of 54 years, the former Sandy Gottke; his daughter Kim and her son Kyle; his son Kevin and wife Veronica, daughters Jordan and Grace; his son Kirk and wife Lisa; his son Devin; and his bonus son Kacy, with whom he argued politics daily; two sisters, Martha Luby Garich and Kathy Luby Harrison; sister-in-law, Sandra (Skip) Luby; and several nieces and nephews and lifelong friends, Jim and Connie Silvania. He is deceased by his brother Louis. Chuck attended Zanesville High School, entering the Navy in 1956, spending four years in the Naval Intelligence Division with a top secret clearance as a cryptologic officer. After his military tour, he returned home to join the police department in Zanesville for four years. Where he married Sandy in 1961. Then came to Columbus to join the Columbus Police Department in 1964, where he remained for 30 years. After retiring in 1994, he did many security jobs, including, AEP, Bank One, SON OF HEAVEN, Rickenbacker Air Base, and found time to play golf weekly. He was a passionate Ohio State Football fan and an avid reader, sometimes reading 20 books a month. He was a Continued Lifetime FOP member for 50 years, and member of St. Phillip Catholic Church. Family will receive friends Tuesday 6-9pm at the MAEDER-QUINT-TIBERI Funeral Home, 1068 S. High St., Columbus OH 43206 (614) 444-1184 Graveside service will be held 11am Wednesday at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Zanesville, Ohio.
