Carole Ann Smock, 72, of Zanesville, died at 4:27 A.M. Friday, September 4, 2015, at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House, following a brief illness. She was born November 18, 1942, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Edwin E. and Lois L. Huffman Butler. She married the late Edmund G. Smock on September 15, 1966. Carole was a member of Muskingum Presbyterian Church, a graduate of Zanesville High School and Meredith Business College. After her graduation, she worked at McKee insurance and was co-owner of Brighton Transfer, and a surviving proprietor of D. & L. E. Transit Company.
Surviving are two sons, Douglas G. (Tammy) Smock and Jason E. Smock and Desireaux Hanna, all of Zanesville; two grandsons, Zachary Edmund Smock and Alexander Keith Smock; three granddaughters, Sage, Selah, and Sienna Murphy; and her beloved grandcat, Caramel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund G. Smock; and her beloved granddog, Jade.
No calling hours will be observed. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville.
