Martha Louise "Marty" Bateman, 86, of Zanesville passed away on Monday April 28, 2014 at the Helen Purcell Home.She was born in Zanesville on October 20, 1927 to the late Henry W. and Elizabeth "Betty" Baker Orth. She was a graduate of Lash High School and Miami University where she graduated Valedictorian. She was a member of Beaux Art Club, Green Thumb Art Club, Bridge Club, and St. John's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling, antiquing, gardening and volunteering at Bethesda Hospital.Martha is survived by her two children: Andy Bateman of Columbus and Lisa (Burl Shreve) Bateman of Zanesville.The family has chosen cremation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Shelter 1430 Newark Road Zanesville, Ohio.
