About Courtney M. Short, age 22, of Zanesville, went home to be with the Lord March 28, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born December 10, 1991 in Zanesville to her parents Dr. Philip E. Short and Kathryn (Love) Short. Courtney attended First Christian Church and graduated from Zanesville High School in 2010 with Honors, where she was active in band, choir and Key Club. She attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio for three years, where she was a member of the Choraliers Women’s Choir. She loved her years at Miami, and the highlight of her Miami experience was touring Scotland and Ireland, and performing at Carnegie Hall in New York City with the Choraliers. Courtney enjoyed being involved in community and school theater productions and playing piano. She also participated in competitive gymnastics. Courtney especially enjoyed her family trips and vacations and treasured memories at Hilton Head Island with her family. Courtney will always remain a beautiful person and soul in our hearts and memories.
In addition to her parents, Courtney is survived by her brother, Trevor Short of Zanesville and his girlfriend Lauren Wright of Canton; sisters, Kelsey Short of Columbus and Lindsey Short of Zanesville; maternal grandfather, Ross Love of Reynoldsburg; paternal grandparents, Walt and Shirley Short of Wauseon, OH. She is also survived by aunts and uncles; Roger and Beth Weber of Wauseon, OH, Dave Love and Jeff Love both of Columbus, OH, Loren and Missy Love of Painesville, OH, and Cheryl Love of Columbus, OH, and cousins, Erin Weber , Cole Weber, Wade and Whitney Knipp , and Ryan and Carly Love. Also, special friends who loved her, Megan, Sara, Hannah, Frank, Aili, Alaina, Melissa, Laura and Kayla. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Lavonne Love.

Burial to follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.
