Evelyn M. Rehl, 92, of Zanesville, died at 6:25 A.M. on Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Emeritus at North Hills. She was born March 7, 1921, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Earl and Abbie Bates Gardner. She was a retired Secretary for the Zanesville Times Recorder, was a member of the Brighton Boulevard Free Methodist Church, and the St. John’s Lutheran Church. She was a good Christian woman.
Surviving are a step-son Larry (Joyce) Emmert of New Castle, WY; two step-grandsons Dean and Jeffrey Emmert; six step-grandchildren; two nieces Tammy Gardner and Cheryl Gardner, both of Columbus; a nephew Larry Gardner of Zanesville; and five cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John R. Rehl, whom she married October 3, 1976, and who died October 18, 2010; and a brother Glenn (Shirley) Gardner.
She will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville, beside her beloved husband John.
