About Bryce A. Vinsel, 88, of Zanesville, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2014, at Clay House. He was born July 4, 1925, to the late Glen and Laura McCormick Vinsel. Bryce graduated from Lash High School in 1943 where he was a member of the varsity football team. After graduation, he was inducted into the Army Air Force as a ball turret gunner on a B-17 Bomber, flying 30 combat missions over Germany. After his discharge from the service, he retired as Vice President of the Roekel Co. after 40 years of service. Bryce was a life member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where he served as an usher and on church council. He was a member of Lafayette Lodge #79 for 60 years. He volunteered at Bethesda Hospital for many years after his retirement. Bryce enjoyed playing golf, especially with his Wednesday Men’s Traveling group.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, the love of his life for 66 years. They were blessed with two wonderful sons, also surviving, Douglas (Tammy) Vinsel of Raleigh, NC, and Judge Jay Vinsel of Zanesville; seven grandchildren, Mike (Barbara) Vinsel, Kerry (Jim) Hazen, Katie (Jeff) Mather, Kristina (Brian) White, Scott Vinsel, Hunter Vinsel, and Anna (Jason) Witte; eleven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Bryce was very proud of his family and their accomplishments. Everyone enjoyed his quick wit and good sense of humor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Maurice “Moe” and Loren Vinsel; sisters Wanda Jean Vinsel, Wilma Buller, and Cledith King; sisters-in-law Reba Vinsel and Lydia Vinsel; brothers-in-law Lloyd Buller and Dalton King; and a nephew Lee Vinsel.

There will be no calling hours. Private graveside services will be held at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery
