Ruth E. Hearing, 89, of Zanesville, died at 2:53 a.m. Mon. Aug. 27, 2012 at Cedar Hill Care Center. She was born on March 13, 1923 in Zanesville.
She was a telephone operator for Ohio Bell and AT & T for 45 years in the Zanesville and Columbus offices. She enjoyed cooking and baking pies for family gatherings and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren. Ruth and her husband were avid antique collectors and enjoyed attending local auctions. They traveled extensively after her retirement.
She is survived by three sons, Philip E. (Roxann) Hearing of Cambridge, Gary H. (Karen) Hearing of Naperville, Illinois, and Robert H. (Barb Morris) Hearing of Zanesville; Six grandchildren, Matt, Heather, Brian, Jon, Nicholas, and Josh; Ten greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Anna Urban; husband Philip Richard Hearing; and one daughter, Linda Hearing.
Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery.
