About MUNCIE, IN: Ann E. Humm, 74, formerly of Zanesville, passed away Sunday evening, May 20, 2012, at Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana.

Ann was born on April 17, 1938 in Zanesville, the daughter of Newell and Pauline (Sturtz) Harvey, and graduated from Zanesville High School and Bethesda School of Nursing, where she received a degree as a Registered Nurse. She married her husband, Rodger Humm, also formerly of Zanesville, in 1959, before moving to Columbus and then Oberlin, Ohio. She settled with her family in Muncie, Indiana in 1967 after Rodger was hired as a professor at Ball State University. Ann worked as a nurse for an obstetrician and gynecologist for more than 20 years. She was a devoted mother and enjoyed golfing, dancing, playing the piano, and spending time in Zanesville with her parents and extended family.

In addition to her husband of fifty-three years, surviving are two sons, Randall Humm (wife, Nancy Green), Arlington, Virginia, and Dustin Humm (wife, Sara), Yorktown, Indiana; two grandchildren, Madeleine and Carter Humm, Arlington, Virginia; and a brother, Charles Harvey (wife, Sandy), League City, Texas.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents. Ann's father was an editor for the Times Recorder, and her mother was a homemaker and volunteer at Bethesda Hospital. Her brother formerly was a sales professional with the Clow Corporation. Rodger's father Ernest ("EG") Humm, owned Lindsey Soft Water Service in Zanesville, and his mother was a homemaker who was involved in numerous business ventures. Rodger's brother, John "Jack" Humm formerly was a city councilman in Zanesville.

A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Humm at Euclid Avenue United Methodist Church at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 9.
