SPRING HILL, FL: John E. "Jack" Passwaters, 72, of Spring Hill, FL, passed away on October 24, 2011, after a long courageous battle with mesothelioma.
He was born on September 25, 1939, in Zanesville, OH to the late John "Jack" Passwaters and the late Hilda Young.
He was a machinist and served 22 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a senior chief petty officer. His main hobbies were chess and woodworking.
He is survived by three sons: John Jeffrey Passwaters of Brooksville, FL, Eric Eugene Passwaters of Zanesville, OH, and Robert David Passwaters of Columbus, OH; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Gary L. Passwaters of Zanesville, OH; two step-sisters, Linda Crum of Parkersburg, WV and Carol Hayes of Quaker City, OH; a niece and several cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Passwaters.
There will be no services per Jack's wishes. A military 21 gun salute will be held gravesite at Greenwood Cemetery, Zanesville, OH.
