Francis L. "Sonny" Whiteman, 77, of Zanesville, died at 3:43 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Beckett House, New Concord, Ohio. He was born November 15, 1933 in Zanesville, a son of the late Harry and Hazel Marie Dillinger Whiteman. He graduated from Lash High School Class of 1952, was the former Owner and Operator of Whiteman Trenching, was a sheet metal worker for 25 years. Sonny was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, member of the Eagles Lodge # 302 and a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union # 24.
Surviving are three sons, Mike (Gina) Whiteman and Brad (Cheri) Whiteman all of New Concord and Greg (Carrie) Whiteman of Zanesville; four grandchildren, Lacey, Nicole, Brock and Tanner; a sister, Betty Cavinee of New Lexington; a step-brother, Donald (Marily) Whiteman of Benson, Arizona.
Graveside services will be held at noon on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at St. Paul Cemetery.
