Martin R. Blackwood, 47, of Zanesville died Thursday, December 17, 1998, at Genesis-Good Samaritan Hospital.
Born October 16, 1951, in Zanesville, he was the owner-operator of Greenlawn Transport and also general manager of Greenlawn Mobile Home Sales. Mr. Blackwood was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and a gospel singer, having sung in many churches and on radio and TV. He was also a member of the ZHS Tipoff Club.
Surviving are his wife, Valeria Weiser Blackwood, whom he married September 17, 1977, his father, Martin E. Blackwood of Zanesville; one daughter, Maggie Blackwood of Greenville, SC; one son, Charles "Joey" Blackwood of the home; and one sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Greg Gaumer of Zanesville.
He was preceded in death by his mother; Mary Embree Blackwood.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
