Lester L. Dunmead, 75, of Zanesville died at 2 am Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at Genesis Hospice, Morrison House.
Born December 24, 1924, in Zanesville, he worked for Hazel Atlas Plant No. 1 for 15 years and then worked as an insurance agent for Prudential Insurance Co. for 22 years. He retired as a lab assistant at Muskingum College after 14 years of service and was a member of Central Trinity United Methodist Church, Amity Lodge 5 F & AM, a World War II Army veteran and a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia Moore Dunmead of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Keith Mills of Athens; several nieces and nephews, and a special companion, his pet Sadie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester F. Dunmead Sr. and Melda Roffey Dunmead Crawford; his stepfather, Harold Crawford, a sister Lavada Dickerson ; and a brother, William Dunmead.
Burial will be in Zanesville Memorial Park.
