William E. Cover, 83, of Zanesville, died at 11:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Genesis Good Samaritan hospital. He was born February 13, 1927, in Zanesville, a son of the late Charles W. and Ruth Hickey Cover. He was owner and operator of Cover TV for 52 years. He was a member of the Coburn United Methodist Church, Lodge of Amity #5 where he served as secretary for 14 years and was a past master, Knight of the York Cross of Honor, Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, Knights Templar, White Shrine of Jerusalem, Order of Eastern Star #485, Order of Amarath, Amrou Grotto #45 and Zavi Shrine. He was a 33° Degree Mason and a United States Navy World War II Veteran. He loved photography and playing several musical instruments.
Surviving are a son, Michael (Delma) Cover of Zanesville; eight grandchildren, David A. (Becky) Smith Jr., Darrick (Melissa) Cover, Scott (Christy) Cover, Dustin C. Smith, Wendy Cover (Josh) Daniels, Ashley Smith, Kelly Cover and Josie Cover; 10 great grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Jewett Bill Harriman of Zanesville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, June Brown Cover, who died September 20, 2001; a daughter, Constance Harriman, who died October 17, 2009; two brothers, Charles E. Cover and Larry G. Cover; and a great grandson, Drake Cover.
Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park.
