Naomi Goff Merriam Taylor, 88, of Springfield, Ohio, formally of Zanesville, died at 6:05 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the Patriot Ridge Community Nursing Home in Fairborn, Ohio. She was born March 30, 1922, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Richard Edward & Iola May Turner Goff. She was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ and the Order of the Eastern Star #52.
Surviving are three sons, Robert Merriam of California, Larry (Kaye) Merriam of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Richard (Susan) Merriam of McDonough, Georgia; a daughter, Rebecca (Larry) Updyke of Springfield, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Michael Merriam, Lara (Ed) Smith, Christopher Merriam, Jennifer Merriam, Jonathan (Colleen) Updyke, Brian (Stacey) Updyke, Tiffiany (Keith) Zaberoski and Renee Taylor; twelve great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Ann Taylor Goff of Zanesville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert E. Merriam, who died in 1964; her second husband, James C.L. Taylor, who died in 2006; a sister, Ruth Linn; and a brother, Richard Goff.
Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
