About Barbara Painter, 84, of Lewis Center, Ohio, passed away peacefully at 9:12am Wesnesday, October 10, 2007, at the Highbanks Care Center in Columbus.

She was born Barbara Arlene Lane on January 24, 1923, in Nashport. She graduated from Lash High School in 1940, and worked for Kresge Five and Dime in Zanesville. She married William "Bill" Painter in 1942. She raised three children, and worked beside Bill to build a successful men's clothing store, Talley and Zulandt Inc. She enjoyed her family, helping other, playing bridge, reading and music. She was the biggest fan of her sons's sporting events. She was a caring, supportive mother, involved community member, a thoughtful friend and a devoted helpmate to her husband.

She is survived by her husband, of the home; her children, Mollie (David) Harrigan of Indian Harbour Beach, FL, Michael Painter of Powell, Ohio, and Matthew Painter of Lewis Center; grandchildren, Alexa Painter (Mike) Jackson, Matthew (Brandi) Painter, Kathryn Harrigan (Brandon) Christian, Jennifer Harrigan (Nathan) Lee and Michael Harrigan; and her great-grandchildren, Jackson Painter, Griffin Painter and Lucas Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph E. and Leah Conn Lane; her sister and best friend, Eleanor Tunis ; and her brother, Paul Lane.

Burial will be in Zanesville Memorial Park.
