About Benny D Huey, 75 of Zanesville, died 9:30 AM Saturday, August 15, 2009 at his residence following an eight-month illness. He was born Thursday, February 08, 1934 in Zanesville the son of Robert E. Huey and Althea (Forker) Huey. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Benny was a US Army Veteran who served his country during the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1994 following 47 years of service with Putnam Transfer. He was a member of La Fayette Lodge # 70, Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio, Amrou Grotto, Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, VFW Post 1058, American Legion Post 29, Zanesville Sertoma Club, Elks Lodge, Eagles Lodge and the Teamsters Union. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather and an avid golfer. He is survived by two daughters: Lori Robb of Zanesville and Heidi Huey and husband Kip Slater of Pickerington; one son: Kevin D. Huey of San Francisco, CA; six grandchildren: Sean Benjamin Barnes, Mandi, Kasie and Ryan Robb, Quinci and Sloan Huey; one sister: Patty Huey of Zanesville; three brothers: Richard 'Duke' (Beverly) Huey of Zanesville and Jim (Jean) Huey and Tom (Carol) Huey both of Nashport; a special friend: Marlene Payton of Westerville and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife: Donna Jean Hennessy Huey who passed away June 24, 1997, two brothers: Robert and Gene Huey; and one sister: Gloria Ripple. Friends may call from 4 - 7 PM, Monday, August 17, at The Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, where Masonic Services will be held at 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 18, at the funeral home with Fr. Martin Ralko officiating and VFW Post 1058 will conduct full Military Honors. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park at a later date.
