Joan Lee Ziemer, of Zanesville passed at 5:10 PM Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Genesis Hospital.
She was born on Monday, October 5, 1936, in Zanesville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Glenn and Virginia Garner Jackson.
Joan graduated from ZHS, class of 1954 and later Meredith Business College. She was a member of the Peaceable Quilters club, which she enjoyed very much.
She is survived by her son David Barnes; stepsons, Rick Ziemer and Randy (Diane) Ziemer; a sister, Jane (Paul) Law; eight grandchildren; three grandchildren; a step grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Ziemer; and a daughter, Kathie Barnes-Davis.
Per Joan’s wishes a caring cremation has taken place and a graveside will be held at a later date.
The Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Ave. Zanesville, is in charge of the arrangements.
