Shelby Jean Vickers, Age 80, Passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2025. Shelby was a friend to everyone she met. Mom was born and raised in Zanesville, Ohio from parents Robert Hammer and Helen Spencer. My mama had more friends than I ever knew and last week, they poured their love into me, after helping her selflessly for 3 weeks before she passed. Thank you to all of her and “my” brothers and sisters in Christ from Fair Oaks Baptist Church, Zanesville, Ohio. Thank you Pastor Pittman and everyone. Your kindness and love to my mama will never be forgotten.
My mom is survived by her elder brother Gary Hammer of Ohio, her brother Dave, and me, her only daughter: Lori LaBelle, and my husband, our 5 children, their families, one great granddaughter, and another great granddaughter on the way. Mom loved coming out to see us in Colorado and spend time with us. Her cremains were carried from our military postman to my car yesterday, and they will be placed on our mountain.
