Fredrick “Allen” Howard, 86, of Zanesville, died at 5:12 P.M. on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at The Oaks at Bethesda. He was born June 24, 1939, in Chandlersville, Ohio, a son of the late Harry V. and Esther (Cooper) Howard. Allen was a handyman and worked for the family construction business. He was a Christian by faith. He was a proud member of the United States Army Reserves, and a member of the Eagles #302. Allen found joy in hunting, bowling, playing dominoes and spending time with family.
He is survived by two sons, Doug (Susan) Howard and Don (Patty) Howard; seven grandchildren, Keith (Megan) Howard, Kari (Billy) Hoffer, Kaylee (Mark) Wilson, Thomas (Michele) Howard, Christopher (Mary) Howard, Meagan (Dylan) Rudy, and Matthew Howard; nine great-grandchildren, Reid, Raelyn, Will, Luke, Grant, Wyatt, Abby, Adeline, Aiden, Daxton, Avery, Ayla, Ava, and Liam; brothers, Jim (Jeanette) Howard, Dave Howard, and Bob (Gail) Howard; and several nieces and nephews .
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, of sixty years, Rebecca “Beckie” (Denton) Howard, who passed on Tuesday, August 6, 2019; brothers, Harry Thurman Howard, Bill Howard, Harley Howard and Stanley Howard,
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, 1475 Military Road, Zanesville, with Pastor Joseph DiVincenzo officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife, Beckie.
