About Sheryle D. Hardcastle, 80 of Zanesville went to be with her mother and father Wednesday morning, May 14, 2025 at the Oaks at Bethesda while under hospice care.

Sheryle was born June 28, 1944, in Zanesville, the daughter of Robert L. Fisher Sr. and Frances “Kelly” Williams Fisher.

She was a member of Coburn United Methodist Church. Sheryle attended The Ohio State University and was a graduate of Ohio University with both bachelor’s and master’s Degrees in English. As a teacher, Sheryle taught at several levels at St Nicholas, West Muskingum School District, and Zanesville City School. During her 20 years in Texas, Sheryle taught at Spring Independent School District and tutored several members of the United States Women’s Olympic Gymnastics Team. Sheryle loved soccer and played into her 50s (having several broken bones to prove it). She loved to dance, grew up taking dance into twenties, was a drum major at Zanesville High and loved country western dancing as an adult. Sheryle was a longtime volunteer with Hospice and Muskingum County Board of Elections. She was an avid crossworder and reader and loved her several Dobies.

She is survived by her son, Rian W. Hardcastle; a brother Rob (Bonnie) Fisher; Grandchildren, Hallie, Brent, Geanna and Olivia; great grandchildren, Leo, Scottie, Nathaniel and Elliana; along with nieces, nephews and cousins
Sheryle was preceded in death by her parents.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Coburn United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 7th at 11:00 AM.
