About Evelyn Wilson Miller, a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025, at the Morrison House. She was born on February 24, 1933, in Zanesville, Ohio, to her loving parents, Roy H. and Tacy L. (Hysell) Wilson.

Evelyn was the proud mother of three sons: Jeffrey W. of Zanesville, Douglas C. (Melanie) of Navarre, FL, and Bradley W. of Navarre, FL. Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished the many memories they shared together.

A graduate of Lash High School in 1951, Evelyn went on to build a fulfilling career, working at MATC and OUZ before joining a local architectural firm. In 1985, she moved to Mesa, Arizona, where she worked at Arizona State University in several departments, including the Graduate School of Architecture. After living in Oregon for several years, she returned home to Zanesville in 1994 to care for her mother and spend time with her siblings.

Evelyn generously gave her time and heart as a volunteer with Genesis Healthcare System, beginning in 1995. She was a faithful member of Central Trinity United Methodist Church, where she formed many lasting friendships, and sang in the choir. Evelyn found joy in life’s simple blessings—her beloved “card club” friends, her church community, and the opportunity to lend a helping hand to others. Evelyn’s life was happily rooted in her faith, her love for family, and her belief in the power of a good laugh."

Evelyn’s legacy lives on in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her endless joy: granddaughters Tacy Bailey, Raina (Trent) Daniels, and Danielle Miller; grandsons Jarrett Miller, Devin (Clarissa) Miller, and Noah Miller; and six treasured great-grandchildren. She also held a special bond with her nieces and nephews, especially Rhonda and Nancy and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings—Geraldine Pace, Ellis “Les” Wilson, and Marilyn Berkshire—and her beloved granddaughter, Stevie Chalcraft.

Honoring Evelyn’s wishes, a private cremation was handled with care by the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home. At this time, no services are planned. Evelyn will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Her laughter and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
