About Theodore C. “Ted” Zakany Jr., 78, of Zanesville, died at 4:23 A.M. on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Adams Lane Care Center, Zanesville. He was born November 4, 1946, in Zanesville, a son of the late Theodore C. Sr. and Doris (Sagle) Zakany. Ted proudly served our country as a veteran of the United States Navy and worked for Blue Line, driving semi-truck for twenty-five years and loved being on the road. He was a craftsmen with a passion for woodworking, loved warm weather, singing with the Zanesville Barbershop Chorus and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds fan.
He is survived by two daughters, Michelle (Kevin) Lovell and Melissa (Darryl) Thompson; four grandchildren, Matthew Linscott, Michael (Taylor) Linscott, Zachary (Ali) Roessler, and MacKenzie Linscott; four great-grandchildren, Addy Roessler, Milly Roessler, Payton Linscott, and Paisley Linscott; two brothers, Dan (Marla) Zakany and, Tom Zakany; two sisters, Bev Catlett, and Julie Zakany; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, DeLores (Gravitt) Zakany who passed on December 18, 2016; his daughter Maria Zakany; two sisters-in-law, Linda Buzza and Molly Roberts; one brother-in-law, Mark Catlett
The family would like to add a special thanks to Genesis Hospice, especially care takers, Keisha and Deb and to the entire staff at Adams Lane Care Center and Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home.
Friends and family may call from 1:00 P.M until time of service at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, 22, 2025 at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE with Pastor Brian Owens officiating. Full Military honors will be accorded to him by the United States Navy in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058.
