A. Joseph Curry, 76, of Zanesville, passed away at 1:42 pm August 1, 2007, at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital.
Borm August 12, 1930, in Zanesville, Joe graduated from Lash High School in 1948, was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from NCR in Cambridge after 45 years of employment. He was a founding member of the Wahington Township Volunteer Fire Department, where he was a volumteer firefighter for 42 years and an EMT for 15 years. Joe also coached baseball for the East Muskingum Little League and the AAABA and was a founding member of the East Muskingum Water Authority.
Surviving are his loving wife of 53 years, Jo Ann Dodson Curry, whom he married on June 12, 1954; three sons, James (Karen) Curry of Cooperdale, Nick (Sue) Curry of Zanesville and Roger Curry of Zanesville; a brother, Mike (Theresa )Curry of Massillon; four sisters, Ada (Ralph) Kelly, Jan (Don) Scott, Nancy (Jack) Bracken and Ruth (Lou) Jordan of Zanesville; grandchildren, Mindy (Scott) Gifford, Melissa (Mike) Bryan, Alaina Curry, Hugh Curry, Joey Curry, Rachel Curry and Hannah Curry; great-grandchildren, Christopher and Josh Gifford and Isahah Bryan; stepgrandchildren, Tacy (Reed) Bailey and Raina Miller; stepgreat-grandchildren, Luna and Reed Bailey; and his loving and faithful dog, Gene.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Thelma Monlux Curry; a brother, Leonard Curry and a daughter-in-law, Nancy Curry.
Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
