About	Carolyn Elaine Allen, 74, of Zanesville, was called home by the Lord on the afternoon of Thursday October 24, 2024, at Genesis Hospital with her son and her daughter by her side. She was born August 30, 1950, in Adamsville, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Leo and Mildred (Havens) Hayes. Carolyn was a long time employee at the local Kroger and was known and loved by many people in the community. She loved shopping for groceries and taking them home to turn into delicious meals for her family and friends. Carolyn has three grandchildren that were the light of her life. She loved watching them grow, enjoyed teaching them life skills and watching them play sports was one of her favorite hobbies. She is survived by her children, Jennifer (William) Berry and Jason (Vera) Allen; three grandchildren, Allison Berry, Alaina Berry, and Myra Allen; two sisters, Shelby Sheck and Loretta (Keith) Ruecka; and two brothers, Gerald (Diane) Hayes and Warren Hayes. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by seven brothers, Wayne Hayes, Ken Hayes, Dale Hayes, Loren Hayes, Bernard Hayes, Lewis Hayes, and Leo Hayes Jr.; and one sister, Deloris Brewer. Friends and family may call from Friday, November 1, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. until time of service at 4:00 P.M.at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, with Pastor Joe Rowland officiating. Carolyn will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.
