About William R. “Bill” Wagstaff, 90, of Zanesville, left this earth at 5:34 A.M. on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, to spend eternity with the love of his life, Sylvia Joan (Young) Wagstaff, who passed away June 4, 2013. He was born August 12, 1934, in Zanesville, a son of the late William Lewis and Clarice (Clayton) Wagstaff.

Bill worked for Allied Machine Works for forty years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of Y-City Bass Masters in Zanesville for many years. His love of fishing took him on trips with family and friends to fish local lake and river tournaments, Ohio River, many of the Great Lakes, Florida Keys, Ontario and Alaska. As an avid small and big game hunter, he hunted in Ohio for squirrel, quail, duck, turkey, grouse, rabbit and whitetail deer. Big game hunting took him to Montana for mule deer and Quebec for caribou. He bowled for many years and in February of 1967, he bowled a perfect 300 game, joining his wife Sylvia who bowled her perfect game in June of 1966.

Bill is survived by three children, Mitzi (Jeff) Mock, William (Dawn) Wagstaff, Richard (Gwyn) Wagstaff; two granddaughters, Jodi Wolfe, Lori (Matthew) Kreis; three great grandchildren, Kyle (Callie Kirkbride) Khune, Hayli (Clint) Scott, Liam Wolfe; and his brother, Jack (Dot) Wagstaff.

A dignified cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Zanesville at a later date
