About	William "Bill" Mehling, 63 of Zanesville, passed away unexpectedly on June 12, 2024, at his residence. He was born on July 24, 1960, in Zanesville, Ohio, son of the late Donald Mehling Sr. and Mary (Brown) Mehling. Bill worked at Brockway Glass/Owens Illinois for over 38 years, where he retired. He was a member of the St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Zanesville and a member of the Eagles #302 for several years. Bill enjoyed playing golf, riding his motorcycle, and drinking/playing cards with his family and friends. Above all, he loved spending his free time with his family and loved ones. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Rita (Harlan) Mehling; 2 children: Aaron (Staci Ryan) Mehling and Marsha Mehling-Shepherd; brother, Don (Brenda) Mehling Jr.; sister, Carol (Mark) Massaro; grandchildren, Austin Saxton, Tyler (Mariah) Saxton, Joseph Johnson, Trey Mehling, Alex Mehling, Jayden Mehling, Quinten Mehling, Carter Mehling, Cooper Wilson, Madison Mehling, Marissa Shepherd, Tierra Ryan; great-grandchildren, Ryder Mehling, Raelynn Mehling, Hadlee Mehling, Lucas Mehling, Miylah Saxton, and 1 on the way; special friends, Bob (Hazel) McDonald; sisters-in-laws, Lori Goody, Gloria (Mel) Weaver; brother-in-law, Bob (Janice) Harlan; nephew, Frank Mehling Jr.; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews; 2 fur babies, Minnie & Cocoa. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Chad Mehling; brother, John “Frank” Mehling; mother-in-law, Della (Girton) Harlan; father-in-law, Kenneth “Hoss” Harlan; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Harlan. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday June 18, 2024, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM & 6:00 – 8:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, 56 South 5th Street, Zanesville. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday June 19, 2024, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Zanesville, with Fr. David Young as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive cemetery.
