About	Charles E. Kaplan, 78, of 131 Orchard Drive, Norris, Tennessee., formerly of Zanesville, died Thursday, June 12, 1986, in St. Mary's Medical Center. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Norris, Tennessee, a graduate of Notre Dame University and a retired chemist with Union Carbide. He was born April 6, 1908, in Zanesville, the son of Joseph and Kathryn Collins Kaplan. Surviving are his wife, Ruby Kaplan of the home; two daughters, Karen Kaplan of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and Kathryn Stumpff of Orlando, FL; one son, Michael Kaplan of Aiken, SC; three grandchildren; one brother, Dr. Frederick L. Kaplan of Zanesville; one sister, Grace Kaplan of Zanesville and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Adelaide Morris and Ann S. Kaplan; and two brothers Joseph A. Kaplan Jr. and Charles E. Kaplan. Burial will be in Norris Memorial Gardens.
