About Douglas “Doug” Layne Grissett, 67, of Lore City, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023.

Doug was born October 11, 1956, in Zanesville, a son to the late Robert Grissett and Wilma Jean (Shaerer) Hostetter.

He enjoyed golfing, horseshoes, darts, grilling and smoking meat for family and friends, and softball. Doug was a member of Jaycee’s Sports Golfing League for some time. He worked for 25+ years at TW Metals and was a custodian in the East Guernsey Local School District. Doug also served in the Marine Corps. He was a big fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and The Ohio State University football teams.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Doug is survived by his wife Lori (McWilliams) Grissett whom he married on June 16, 1990; his step- mother, Cheryl Grissett; his five daughters Christy (& John) Rome of Cambridge, Misty (& Zach) Frasure of Senecaville, Ellie (& Shane) Pollock- King of Pleasant City, Jessica May of Lore City, and Amanda Grissett of Lore City; five brothers, Scott (& Pam) Grissett of Coshocton, Tod (& Debbie) Grissett of Nashport, Derek (& Candy) Hostetter of Coshocton, Brent (& Sue) Grissett of Zanesville, and Robert (& Trishi) Grissett of Zanesville. His memory will also be cherished by his twelve grandchildren, Julio, Franko, Josey, RJ, Taylor, Chloe, Payton, Johnny, Alexis, Brayden, Nick, and Olivia; two great- grandchildren, Amaun and Avyen; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Thorn- Black Funeral Home in Cambridge on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 11AM to 1PM with the service to following at 1PM. Pastor Ed Warne will officiate.
