About | Carrie Marie (Young) Redman, 95, of Zanesville, Ohio, gained her eternal rest on Sunday, February 5, 2023. Carrie was born October 15, 1927 in Coshocton, Ohio, daughter of the late William and Murgie (Fisher) Young. In addition to her parents, Carrie is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, to whom she was married in 1947, Saul Arnold Redman; her brothers, Clarence Young, Jack Young, Russell Young, Raymond Young and Charles Young; and her sister, Margaret Young Williamson. Carrie leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved children, Eric (Gwen) Redman, of Houston, TX, Randi Redman, of Zanesville, OH and Mary Beth (Paul) Wilson, of Richmond, CA; grandchildren, Megan, Rickie, Maleta and Makela; many nieces and nephews; and other loved ones and friends. Carrie was a graduate of Lash High School as well as Meredith Business College. She also attended Wilberforce University for a year, and Ohio University Zanesville in her later years. Carrie worked as a ward clerk for Good Samaritan hospital and was also employed by the Zanesville Community Center. She then went on to dedicate many years of employment to the City of Zanesville in the utilities department, and later the public works department, from which she retired. Carrie was a lifetime member of the Union Baptist Church of Zanesville, where a stained glass window hangs in acknowledgement of the Young family's longtime contributions to the congregation. She spent many years teaching Sunday School and dedicated over 40 years to the music department as the Children's and Gospel Choir director. Carrie was a dedicated member of the Sisters of Ruth club at Union Baptist. She also dedicated time each week to hosting Bible studies from her home. Carrie will be missed by many. Per the family's wishes, cremation has been chosen. A memorial gathering will be held Friday, February 10, 2023 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., with a memorial service in Carrie's honor to follow at 11 a.m., at Burrell Funeral Services in Zanesville. Reverend Clifton Kilpatrick officiating. Carrie's remains will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery, alongside her husband, following the service. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family. |
