Jeffrey Edward Lanning, 58 of Zanesville, passed away on October 25, 2021 at Genesis Hospital after a long battle with cancer and a very rare lung disease he had since the age of twenty-three.
He was born on January 16, 1963, in Zanesville, son of the late Carl Lanning and Marjorie Reed Lanning. Jeff retired from National Tire & Wheel in Wheeling, West Virginia. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Muskingum in Nashport, Ohio. Jeff was an avid music listener and loved to support his Cleveland Browns football. His friends and family were his greatest blessings.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Tina Dunlap Lanning; sisters, Vickie (Mike) Slaughter, Sandra (Kirk) McCloud; nieces, Ira, Darcy, Misty, Stella, Stacy, Katie, Kelcey, Christina, Susan; nephews, Lucas, Josh, Zak, Thomas, Shawn, Carson, Dillon, Angelo, Jeff, Roule; sister-in-law, Louise (Tom) Joseph, Sandra Dunlap; brother-in-law, Mike Dunlap, Irvin Dunlap, Tom Dunlap; and several great-nieces.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his son, Brandon Noland Edward Lanning and his grandparents.
Calling hours will be held on Friday October 29, 2021 from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM at DeLong-Baker and Lanning Funeral Home at 56 South 5th Street of Zanesville, Ohio. Services will be held at 1:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home. Cremation will follow.
