About Tamara Jean "Tammy" Shepherd went home to be with the Lord Monday, October 11th, 2021. Tammy was born on October 10th, 1958 in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Jean (Grosscup) Lanning. Tammy met Mike Shepherd, her beloved husband, in 7th grade and were married 10 years later on February 16th, 1980. For the next 41 years, they were more than husband and wife, they were best friends; more than that they were soul mates. Tammy was devoted to God, and her unwavering faith was a beacon of light that showed to everyone. She lived by His Word, setting an example for her daughters, grandchildren, nieces and nephews to follow. Tammy enjoyed reading, music, playing cards, sewing, caring for children (aka "The Baby Whisperer"), and talking--a lot. A natural typist from the beginning, she went on to work in various offices in the Zanesville area. An animal lover at heart, Tammy's home was never without animals to dote upon--most importantly her "shadow", Louie. But more than anything else, her favorite place to be was when she was surrounded by her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon McCoy, her brothers, Michael Lanning and Gregory Lanning, and nephew Travis Houston.
Surviving is are her husband, Mike Shepherd, her daughters, Tiffany Shepherd (Robert Davis) and Maegan Shepherd; her grandchildren, Aidan Shepherd and Mia Shepherd; sisters Lori (Lanning) Moody and Kathy Lanning; mother-in-law Donna (Shepherd) Bebout, and her brothers-in-law, Ronald Bebout and Douglas (Dana) Bebout, as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at the Rushing Wind Biker Church on Saturday, October 23rd, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike McGuire officiating and all are welcome to attend to celebrate her life.
"God is good, all the time, and all the time, God is good!"
