About Dale H. Mautz, 96, of Zanesville went to be with the Lord on Friday January 1, 2021.
He was born in Zanesville to the late Carl Henry and Bertha Inez Imes Mautz on September 26, 1924. He graduated from Lash High School and retired from Zanesville Mould after 44 years of dedicated service. He was a member the Y-City Barbershoppers and Immanuel Church on 7th Street where he faithfully attended, sang in the choir, helped with the pork and sauerkraut luncheon, building and grounds committee and consistory. Dale was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was caring and helpful to others and was loyal to his friends.
Dale had a deep love for Zanesville High School. He was a lifetime member of the Zanesville Athletic Boosters from its inception where he was on the committee to start the first chicken barbeque, ran the downs marker for football games , sold football programs, ran the time clock for basketball games, and helped support his late wife Juanita who started the Band Boosters Waffle Stand. He also dedicated time to the Devilettes for making props. Dale would do anything he could to help support students and athletes of Zanesville High School and for his valiant efforts he was recognized twice by the Ohio State High School Athletic Association and is enshrined in the Zanesville High School Hall of Fame. “Go Blue Devils”
He is survived by three daughters Anita Friel, Shirley Mautz, and Donna (James) Davis, a brother Roger Mautz, a sister Marjorie (Ray) Dixon, five: grandchildren: Dale E. Mautz, Kay Israel, Beth Loebick, Amy Cargal, and Jason Peters, and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Juanita Bailey Mautz on April 2, 2005, a son Loren Mautz, a grandson Brian Friel, and a granddaughter Kimberly Friel.
Calling hours will be from 3-5pm on Tuesday January 4 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE. Funeral service will follow at 5pm in The Snouffer Chapel with Dr. James Miller officiating.
