About Charlotte Eileen Taylor, age 92, of Upper Arlington, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 10, 2016 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Preceded in death by the love of her life, husband, Fred Taylor; parents, Harvey and Fredda Stillion; brother and sister-in-law, Forrest and Grace Stillion; brother and sister-in-law, Curtiss and Jane Stillion. Eileen was a gentle and loving presence as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She is survived by daughters, Janna (David) Roewer of Dublin, Krista (David) Zimmerman of Upper Arlington, Nikki (Peter) Kelley of Hilliard, Sharla (Nick) Peponis of Powell; grandchildren, Molly, Frederick, Julie (Ben) Niebauer, Ben (Stephanie) Roewer, Sean (Lainie), Lyndsay, and Adam (Megan) Zimmerman, Noah (Tracy) Kelley, Taylor (Steve) Block, Jordan, Alexandra, and Alaina Peponis; great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Cheyenne Block, Emerson Kelley, Katie and Grace Niebauer, Annie Roewer; sister, Wilda Searight of Ballwin, MO; many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Eileen was a 1942 graduate of Lash High School in Zanesville, OH; 1946 graduate of Muskingum University in New Concord, OH; married in 1947 to Fred; devoted her life to family, as well as helping those in need through numerous charitable organizations including Children's Hospital TWIG; worked at The Union clothing store until 1986; member of Northwest United Methodist Church; member of The Ohio State University Faculty Club; her Christian faith was strong as demonstrated by the way she lived her life; she had a grand love of nature and the peace it brought to her; she had a passion for cooking and trying and sharing new recipes; her fingers would dance across piano keys and her face would light up as she played; she was the epitome of a true lady and gentle soul. A memorial service will be held at 11a.m., on Monday, October 17 at Northwest United Methodist Church, 5200 Riverside Drive, Columbus, OH 43220, with visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a luncheon afterward. A private burial at Union Cemetery will take place at a later date. If desired, contributions may be made in her name to The Fred R. Taylor Scholarship Fund, Fund Number 607121, 1480 W. Lane Avenue, Columbus, OH 43221; to the Capital Area Humane Society, 3015 Scioto Darby Executive Court, Hilliard, OH 43026; or to Northwest United Methodist Church, 5200 Riverside Drive, Columbus, OH 43220.
