Rudolph Kamphausen was born March 9, 1896 in Springfield, Missouri, the son of Hugo and and Laura Kamphausen. The family later moved to Zanesville, Ohio where Rudolph graduated with the Zanesville High School Class of 1914. He then married and became and engineer for Bell Telephone Labs. He passed on March 15, 1986 in Branford, Connecticut, leaving behind his wife Mehitable and two children.
