I joined in Dec. 1987, trained in combat control and eventually decided to cross train into the Pararescue. In Aug. 1991 injured my knee and could not jump out of aircraft anymore, so I was lucky enough to be allowed to cross train again and became an aircraft mechanic on a KC 135R inflight refueling aircraft. Was still able to travel quite alot.

During my career in the US Navy I served onboard 5 ships, and was the Engineering Leading Chief Petty Officer onboard the USS COLE when the ship was attacked in the harbor in Aden Yemen. To this day I keep a dog tag in my car with the name of the 17 shipmates I lost that day it reminds me no matter how bad my day was, I get to go home.
