I knew Henry well, he was one of my best friends. We lost contact when I went away to college, but did a lot of things together before that, archery, hunting, shooting and some stuff I would not like to admit to. He was very mechanically minded: we used to steal the engine off his dad's lawnmower and stick in his little sister's bike, lashing a pulley to the rear wheel. We would ride it around then take it all apart before his father got home. Finally the frame on the little bike kind of collapsed. Henry's house was very strict, they reveled in discipline, so we had to be careful not to get caught. Anyway, I had called Henry awhile back and he didn't return the call. Now I know why. I haven't lived in Illinois since 1972, so I had no opportunities to reconnect since then.
