About Me | Life is strange it takes you where you wanna go, but sometimes you end up where you don't want to be. I love my my life as I love every one in it! stay safe and make it back in one peace...these are words I have said to many, and now it's my turn! I prayed for our soldiers to make it home safe, now I am the soldier who needs a prayer, god bless you all!!! it's a journey i am willing to take, side by side by the brave and the few....strong as we are bold as they come! i love each and every one of you and you will just as i make it back....for you are a soldier! I wrote these word before i went to Iraq, I didn't know then how truly hard it was going to be. I have been in Iraq for only a few short months, but it now fills like an eternity. so much has happened since my arrival in Feb. one of the things I will never forget is losing a soldier, a friend. on April 2 2007, Bryan Ritsberg was taken from us. he lost his life to a vehicle born Improvised explosive device (VBIED). about two months before he was killed he had switched squads with me, (he had assumed my position and I his) so when i found out i took it pretty hard. they say everything happens for a reason, well i wish it had never happened put think you for my life. this is not an easy place to be and things happen you wish you could take back. people get hurt, and lives are changed. You meet people you wish you have never met, and people you wish you could never leave. I am who I am, and there is no one who can say other wise, but know I am one of the few who can say they fought for their country. soldiers that go not because they have to, but because, they chose to. Well it has been a few years since I was in the army, and I was about to delete this and reduce it all to a few short sentences about myself, but then I realized this is me. These are words that help me realize where I have been and what I have been though and I am sure it will give a little insight to those who read it. I got out in Sep. 2007 and moved back to Washington, since then I have left and returned home again, this I guess is where I am supposed to be. I have been back in school since 2008 and I got my associates degree in June of 10'. From there I will transfer to University of Washington (Tacoma) and am now working towards my bachelors. I should have my bachelors by spring 2012. After that I am looking into starting some form of teaching tell I am done with my masters. I can not wait to be a guiding light for those growing minds. God is good without him I would not have the strength to make it as...(read more) |
