JENNIFER G. DOROSKY

Jennifer G. Dorosky, 31, of Kingston, died suddenly, Thursday morning, December 19, 2013, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley, Plains Township.

Jen was born November 9, 1982, at the Nesbitt Memorial Hospital in Kingston. She attended State Street Elementary School, Larksville and continued through the WVW School System, graduating in 2001. She went onto, the then College Misericordia and graduated in 2005 and began her teaching career in 2006. Ms. Dorosky was certified to teach History, English and Language Arts and had speaking engagements at WVCA in Wilkes-Barre and College Misericordia.

Jen was a very special young woman, plagued at an early age with Muscular Dystrophy and had one prominent dream. That dream was to be a teacher and to teach at her high school Alma Mater and to be as independent as possible. She achieved that dream and loved every moment of her career and the difference she could make in her students lives. There were few, if any, that were not amazed by her accomplishments. Her closest of friends, were true friends, accepting her for who she was and what activities they could share together. Jens parents and sister, loved her very much and encouraged her to reach for the stars in any endeavour she chose. As a youngster, Jen was active in bowling and challenger baseball. Her love of baseball, led to an addiction with the Philadelphia Phillies. Some of the rare times Jen would become angered, was when she was not able to watch a broadcast Phillies game. Jen did not care about money and would make numerous charitable contributions. Aside from her family, Jen loved her dogs including, Ginger (deceased) and Baily (her sisters Jack Russell). She also was an avid sitcom and Classic TV fanatic. Her favorite movie was Back to the Future. She enjoyed playing the slot machines and was quite the winner. The holidays, particularly the Christmas Season, were a treat for Jen. She enjoyed when her family, aunts, uncles and cousins would get together for fellowship and eating of ethnic foods.

Jen was preceded in death, by her brother, Nicholas J. (Nicky), November 7, 2003.

She is survived by her parents, Joseph and Anne Connors Dorosky, Kingston; sister, Allison Dorosky, Kingston; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted Monday, at 8:45 am, from the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc. 689 Hazle Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Ignatius Church, N. Maple Ave., Kingston.

Friends may call Sunday, December 22, 2013, from 5 to 8 pm, at the funeral home, or Monday morning, from 8:15 am until time of service.
