About Abram P. Morgan, 97, of Forty Fort died Thursday evening, April 22, 2010, at Hospice Community Care, Dunmore.

The son of the late Gwilym and Gwendolyn Price Morgan, he was born in Plymouth and graduated from Plymouth High School.

He earned his bachelor's degree from East Stroudsburg State Teachers College and a master's degree from Bucknell University. He also studied at the University of Scranton.

Mr. Morgan was a mathematics teacher, guidance counselor and principal of Plymouth High School. Following the Wyoming Valley West jointure, he served the district as director of secondary education and then as superintendent until his retirement.

He had been a resident of Forty Fort for 54 years; he was a member of Forty Fort United Methodist Church and earlier Franklin Street Primitive Methodist Church, Plymouth. He was the oldest member and past master of Plymouth Lodge No 332, F&AM, Caldwell Consistory, Bloomsburg.

Preceding him in death were his brothers, John, Arthur, Stuart, George, Sheldon and William Morgan; sisters, Sadie Lawson, Martha Ashbridge and Carolyn Lloyd.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Williams Morgan; son, Dick Morgan and his fiancee, Alice Donovan, Spring Brook Township; sister-in-law, Janice Williams, Moscow; granddaughters, Jan Yanuzzi and her husband, Keith, Forty Fort; and Beth Morgan, Wayne; great-grandson, Grafton Yanuzzi; many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Hugh B. Hughes & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with the Rev. Donald A. Roberts Sr. officiating. Interment will be in Spring Brook Cemetery, Spring Brook Township.

Friends may call Sunday, 4 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be conducted Sunday at 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Franklin Street Primitive Methodist Church, 185 Franklin St., Plymouth, PA 18704.
