About Jimmy Yarosh,48, the Deputy Special Agent in Charge for the U.S. Secret Service Dignitary Protective Division, died unexpectedly of heart failure on August 4 2006.
Jimmy was a dedicated Federal Agent and a devoted employee of the Secret Service. Agent Yarosh's 25 year career included assigments in Chicago, Los Angles, and Washington DC.
Jimmy served previously as a Uniformed Divison Officer at the White House and as a Special Agent on the former President Reagans detail.
Agent Yarosh was responsible for the cordination of security planning for numerous special events to include the 60th Anniversary United Nations General Assembly, the 2004 G-8Summit in Georiga, and the Democratic and Republican National Conventions in 2004.
Agent Yarosh routinely coordinated protection for foreign dignitaries visiting the United States,
Jim was born in Kingston Pennsylvania and attended Wyoming Valley West High School, and attened Mansfield State College. Later graduated from American University with a B.A, in Justice.
Jim was an avid sports fan, played college football for mansfield State (1976-1978) and continued to participate in personal fitness through weight lifting and soft ball tournments.
Agent Yarosh won a Gold Medal for a 495-pound bench press at the 1992 POLICE OLYMPICS in San Diego and was a mamber and coach of the Secret Service Nationally Ranked softball team .
Jimmy sponsored and participated in numerous community charity events and was a loyal fan of the Chicago Bears and Cubs.
Jimmy was well known throught the law enforcement and the Washington, DC community for his strength, quick wit and dedication in public service.
Agent Yarosh and his passion for life will be missed by his family, friends and colleagues.
