About Kathy was diagnoised with Lue Gerig's Disease in 2008, She had been having a problem with balance before that. She died on Nov. 15, 2009 at her winter home in Sarasota Fl.

Kathy was my best friend from when I was in 8th grade and she was in the 7th. My mom said she was going to build a house for us halfway between our homes, because if I wasn't at Kathy's house she was at ours. I last visited her in March of 2009. Lue Gerig's is a terrible disease. When I last saw her she was in an electric wheelchair and talking with a computer. Kathy was one of the smartest people I have ever known. When she retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base she was the highest paid civilian working there. Lue Gerig's doesn't affect your mind, it leaves you trapped in your own body. I still miss her.
